A two-day training course on developing ASEAN quality project proposals is being held from October 9-10 in HCM City. — VNS Photo Ngọc Diệp Viet Nam News HCM CITY — The ASEAN project development training course for Việt Nam, which aims to improve the quality of project proposals, kicked off yesterday in HCM City. The two-day course, organised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and ASEAN Secretariat, attracted 90 participants who are officers of government ministries, departments, agencies and institutions from central and southern provinces and cities. PM calls for speedy action from HCM City on metro cost. -- en.nhandan.com.vn Viet Nam News HCM CITY – Prime Minister Nguyễn Xuân Phúc has instructed HCM City to soon write to the Ministry of Transport about increasing the outlay on its two metro lines, saying the ministry would consider and report about it to the Government before March 20. His exhortation came at a meeting held to review construction of metro line No. 1 from Bến Thành in District 1 to Suối Tiên in District 9 and No. 2 from Bến Thành to Tham Lương in District 12. He also instructed the Ministries of Planning and Investment, Finance and Transport to draft plans to mobilise the required funds for the projects. The text of the first of these laws has 18 chapters and 80 articles. It is meant to regulate the management and use of the State budget, State-funded projects, public offices, natural resources, production and consumption, and the use of property by businesses. State budget revenues on the rise despite hurdles (19-10-2006) Ha Noi — State Budget revenue for the year has exceeded targets despite difficulties caused by natural calamities and dramatic changes in the world market, the National Assembly Economic and Budgetary Committee said on Tuesday. In the context of disruptive changes in the world oil market, the Government had already put in place measures to cope with the negative impacts on production and the public. In the report addressed to the Assembly’s 10th meeting, the committee said that State revenue in 2006 had amounted to VND20,700 billion (US$1.29 billion). The committee went on to applaud the efforts of State offices, businesses, tax collection units and people nation-wide, for the healthy state of national coffers.
