NA reviews key national projects, drug rehabilitation (12-10-2006) HA NOI — The National Assembly Standing Committee yesterday discussed key national projects including the resettlement of more than 20,000 people affected by the Tuyen Quang Hydropower Plant Project and how to move the stalled Ba Ria-Vung Tau Gas-Power-Fertiliser Project forward. According to a Ministry of Industry report, the Tuyen Quang Hydropower Plant Project is being built on the Gam River in the Na Hang District of northern province Ha Giang with a capacity of 342MW and investment from the Viet Nam Electricity Corporation (EVN). The total capital for the project is VND7,522 billion (US$470.1 million), of which VND1.293,2 billion ($80.8 million) is being allocated to the resettlement of local people. The plant is due for completion by 2008, to produce an annual output of 1,295kW.
