In a communication on Wednesday city chairman Nguyễn Đức Chung ordered the district chairman to check how much extra fees Sơn Đồng Primary School has been collecting. The total fees it collected must not exceed the cap prescribed in the Government’s Decree 86/2015/NĐ-CP on tuition fees of public educational establishments, he warned. Four new primary schools in Nha Be District with more than 11,300 students and 530 teachers and school staff have been selected for the 2019-2020 program, which is implemented by the Asia Injury Prevention (AIP) Foundation and supported by Abbott. The selection was based on traffic situations around the schools, economic needs of the community, and helmet wearing rates among the community. School nutrition project expanded to primary schools in Hà Nội

HCM CITY (VNS) — A project to improve meals at primary schools that began in HCM City in 2012 will be expanded to two schools in Hà Nội. The project standardises menus and creates tools for schools to educate students about nutrition, according to Takaaki Nishii, president and CEO of Ajinomoto Company Inc in Japan. Speaking at a press meeting held on Tuesday in HCM City, Takaaki said the project was part of Ajinomoto Việt Nam's corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities, which focus on education in Việt Nam. The project developers have also donated menu development software and a standard model of a kitchen to the primary schools. As of last year, the project had served 213 primary schools in HCM City, 72 in Đà Nẵng and 100 in Hải Phing. After eating the school lunch, the students were reported to have headache, stomachache, vomiting and diarrhea. They were taken to Bắc Ninh General Hospital and Bắc Ninh Province Maternity and Pediatric Hospital . Doctor Nguyễn Văn Dũng, head of Communicable Diseases Department at Bắc Ninh General Hospial, said that the students were infected with bacteria or gastrointestinal disturbance.
