Nine nurses in total are working at the Việt Nam-Germany Hospital in Hà Nội. This is the second year students from Birmingham City University in the Midlands have visited Việt Nam on the fact-finding mission. And while they say there are many similarities between healthcare in the two countries, one thing they have noticed is how hard local staff work in the hospital here. Source http://soytecantho.vn Viet Nam News CẦN THƠ— The Department of Health in the Mekong Delta city of Cần Thơ this year plans to expand a model of family medical practice clinics to 27 more communes and wards. Family medical practice clinics aim to provide comprehensive and continuous health care services to each local individual and family in order to reduce overcrowding of patients at city or central-level hospitals. These clinics are located at health stations in communes and wards. Each commune or ward has one health station. Cần Thơ aims to equip more than 80 per cent of its 85 health stations with these clinics by 2020. HCM City targets 98 per cent coverage of all students

Nguyễn Thị Thu, deputy chairwoman of Việt Nam Social Security’s HCM City office, said the city had 1,159 schools from primary school to university, with 1.7 million students. The agency is working with the city’s Department of Education and Training and schools to inform students and parents of the benefits of health insurance. According to the agency, 90 per cent of students in primary school have medical insurance, while the number in secondary school, high school, and university is 91.4 per cent, 71.4 per cent and 82 per cent, respectively.
