The estimated investment for a 1.9km stretch of the road is VNĐ1.44 trillion (US$63.3 million), of which VNĐ850 billion (US$34 million) will be spent on clearing the land . The area from Mỹ Thủy Intersection to Cát Lái Port sees a great deal of traffic from container trucks every day , which cause s terrible congestion. The city has adopted several measures to reduce traffic jam s in the area , such as traffic divergence and building up intersections. The road widening effort will help improve the traffic situation . Thousands of vehicles were stuck on the 3km stretch in the area near the Tó Bridge and the Đại Thanh Urban Area from around 7.30am until 10.30am. Thái Huy Văn, a police officer of section 14 of Hà Nội’s Transport Police, said the collision was not serious but had caused a major traffic jam because it happened during the rush hour. The police had to dispatch more than 10 officials to support the two on-duty officials in that area to manage the traffic. The city has asked the department to propose measures to ensure safety and avoid traffic jams for vehicles travelling to Hiệp Phước Port in Nhà Bè District. The ports will be moved from districts 4 and 7 to Hiệp Phước Port in the near future. Of the 37 traffic-congestion hotpots in the city, Cát Lái Port area has three heavy traffic-congestion hotspots, which can last up to many hours per day, according to the Department of Transport. Huge Ca Mau City fire causes traffic jam

The fire broke out at about 11am on the second floor of a building, owned by the Thanh Ngan Informatics Trading and Service Ltd Company, and located at 77, Phan Ngoc Hieàn Street in District 5, Three fire engines were sent to the site, and they quickly brought the fire under control. However the fire cause a huge traffic jam on the Phan Ngoc Hieàn route, the largest in the city, for one hour. "The fire broke out on the second floor of the building where our employees work. Luckily, no one was present at the time. The fire was probably caused by a burning ventilator that fell onto the mattress below," Nguyen Thi Bich Ngan, the company's chief, said. As of 2016, there were a total of 11,060 traditional taxis and 15,300 app-based taxis, double the number that city officials had previously targeted. Bùi Xuân Cường, director of the Department of Transport, told a meeting on June 19 that one of the reasons they still occur in some places is the plethora of traffic infrastructure works in the downtown area. Lê Hồng Việt, deputy head of the department’s inspectorate, said inspections of the works have been stepped up, and warned contractors to speed up work so that temporary fences around construction sites could be removed soon. The inspectorate has also eliminated the problem of taxis parking on banned streets, he said. The city has 37 spots prone to traffic jams, according to the department.
