But this piece is concerned with the period from 1960 – 1979 when Nigeria acceded to independence as a sovereign entity to 2019. An examination of the history of Nigeria’s aviation will reveal a profile of an undulating landscape, an escarpment with its highs, lows and flats that leave no avid watcher in doubt about why we are where we are today in some of its critical sub sectors in particular, and the entire industry in general. Heinz to launch ‘Mayochup’ in the UK this month – but it will be called ‘Saucy Sauce’
HEINZ is finally launching its “Mayochup” sauce in the UK months after confirming the news. But the new condiment, which is a mixture of Heinz Ketchup and Heinz Seriously Good Mayonnaise, has a different name - instead it will be called “Saucy Sauce”. Trademark laws prevented Heinz from using the same name in Europe as another company already owns it. Heinz confirmed it would be bringing “Mayochup” to British shores back in March after a successful launch in the US last year. The table sauce was so popular stateside that “Mayomust” – mayonnaise and mustard – and “Mayocue” – you guessed it, mayo and barbecue sauce – soon followed. Brits spend 43 days over a lifetime trying to get into tricky packages
BRITS will spend the equivalent of 43 days of their life struggling to open troublesome packaging. A study of 2,000 UK adults found they spend 19 minutes a week trying to get into tricky packaging which is secured with too much tape, cable ties or even items which are screwed into place. And a sixth of Brits will spend more than half an hour of Christmas day trying to free their gifts of their annoying containers. Vacuum-packed plastic wrap and stuck jars are also among the packaging many find themselves struggling to open. But a sixth have even broken scissors or knives from being unable to get into difficult packaging, while as many as two-fifths have hurt themselves in their bid to unwrap something. Hen harrier death and disappearances investigated
RSPB Scotland has said it is "devastated" by the death of a hen harrier found shot and the disappearance of two more birds.The dead bird was discovered by a member of the public near Wanlockhead, in the south of Scotland, in June. Two other hen harriers last recorded in northern Scotland have also disappeared in "suspicious circumstances".Anyone with information has been urged to contact Police Scotland or the RSPB's raptor crime hotline.What has happened?The first incident occurred on a grouse moor on the boundary between Dumfries and Galloway and South Lanarkshire on 7 June.A post mortem examination found the bird died of "penetrating trauma" injuries consistent with shooting - it also showed the bird had been shot before.The disappeared birds had been tagged as part of an RSPB project this summer.One of them - which had its tracker fitted after it fledged from a nest on the Mar Lodge Estate in Aberdeenshire - was last recorded on 11 September over a grouse moor between Tomintoul … [Read more...] about Hen harrier death and disappearances investigated
