At the workshop held in HCMC, Japanese experts reported the results of their technical work, conducted in 2018 under the HCMC Component of the project titled “Support the Planning and Implementation of Nationally Appropriate Mitigation Actions (NAMAs) in a Measurement, Reporting and Verification (MRV) Manner (SPI-NAMA)”. Ad-supported HBO Max option coming in June
AT&T announced on Friday that it plans to launch a cheaper ad-supported version of HBO Max in June. The telecom giant has only released minimal detail on the plan. It hasn't yet announced pricing or an exact release date for the upcoming cheaper tier. AT&T expects the ad-supported HBO Max tier to combine with global expansion to drive subscriber and revenue growth in 2021. HBO Max will launch in 60 markets outside of the US in 2021. These will include 39 Latin America and the Caribbean territories in late June and 21 European territories in the second half of 2021. The company anticipates ending the year with between 67 and 70 million subscribers. The service had around 61 million subscribers at the end of 2020. The company expects its HBO unit to more than double its revenue in the next five years. Parliament discusses new Treaties Law (17-05-2005) HA NOI — A draft law that will govern the way Viet Nam deals with its international treaties was debated by the National Assembly yesterday. The proposed law stipulates the way in which international treaties will be concluded, ratified and enforced. The deputies discussed a range of issues at the session supervised by NA deputy chairman Truong Quang Duoc. These included naming the law and treaties that are either contrary to or not included in legislative documents written by the National Assembly and its Standing Committee. They also discussed the link, if any, between international treaties and domestic law. The debate followed a report by the assembly’s foreign affairs committee chairman Vu Mao. Duoc told the deputies that the draft law had undergone primary corrections at a special conference of members of parliament in February. In a study by technology analyst firm IDC, they claimed that worldwide software-defined networking in a wide area network (SD-WAN) infrastructure and services revenues will grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 69.6%, to reach US$8.05 billion in 2021. That is an impressive figure. IDC says that in Southeast Asia, almost 56% of organizations have already deployed, or are planning to deploy, SD-WAN. Deputy Minister of Transport Le Dinh Tho said in a recent report to Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung that the ministry has already gathered opinions to manage vehicles with under nine seats transporting passengers through electronic contracts. In debate on the Law on Residency, National Assembly deputies considered three different approaches to the household registration book, some calling for the book to be eliminated, others seeking to preserve it, and others proposing that it be combined with the issuance of national identity cards. Deputy Ma Dien Cu from Binh Thuan Province backed the Government’s proposal to retain the household registration book as it is vital in the fight against crime, particularly in big cities. Cu said there’s nothing wrong with the books. It’s those who manage them who cause trouble for people and infringe on the rights of many citizens, he argued.
