Hà Nội to revoke State-owned houses

It was part of a programme that recently got the greenlight from Nguyễn Đức Chung, chairman of the capital People’s Committee, aiming to implement thrift and anti-waste work this year, the Tuổi trẻ (Youth) newspaper reported. State-owned houses are allotted to public officials, usually leaders of State, Government, ministries and agencies when they are assigned to certain posts or missions. Chung has ordered the authorised agencies to reclaim State-owned houses from those who have retired and are misusing the accommodation. Following the programme, Chung also asked State-owned agencies to return old buildings to the city after they have moved to new buildings. According to the police’s initial investigation, Lượng, 52, a freelance worker residing in Hợp Thành Commune, Yên Thành District, often conducted activities targeted at overthrowing the people’s government and causing social disorder. With collected evidence, Nghệ An Police’s Investigation and Security Force detained Lượng following regulations under the country’s Law on Criminal Procedures.
