Two pupils from Parkhead Primary School spoke in front of a committee of MSPs when they paid the Scottish Parliament a visit. Ellie Meek and Millie Robinson (both 10), appeared as witnesses for St Andrew’s First Aid at The Public Petitions Committee, as part of the charity’s campaign to introduce basic first aid taught in Scottish primary schools as part of the curriculum. Ellie and Millie also gave members of the committee a live CPR and first aid demonstration before the committee sat. As part of the demonstration they bandaged MSP Brian Whittle’s famous left foot, much to the delight of his fellow MSPs. A former golf caddy has revealed how chatting to his clients about their lives on the course helped him become one of the country’s top biographers. Mark Eglinton spent almost five years advising golfers as they made their way around 18 holes. During that time, he found he had a knack for getting them to relax and open up about their personal life. Since then, the 48-year-old has written books with rock stars and sports stars. And he’s now working with former Liverpool and England hero Michael Owen on the striker’s life story. But Mark didn’t study English or learn how to write at university. He mastered his interviewing skills while working at the Old Course in St Andrews. Oregon native Kevin Wesley Gore begins his ministry July 1 St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church invites the Twin Lakes Community to meet, Kevin Wesley Gore, who begins his ministry on Sunday, July 1. St. Andrew’s Episcopal is located at 511 Coley Drive and worship services are held at 8 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. Everyone is invited. Gore received his Master of Divinity from the Church Divinity School of the Pacific in Berkeley, Calif., on May 18. His ordination to the Diaconate in the Diocese of Oregon took place on June 16. This is another step in Kevin’s transition to the Episcopal priesthood. Gore comes from a small town in Oregon, receiving his Bachelor of Arts in Religious Studies and a minor in Music from the University of Oregon in 2007. He also has eight years experience in the business world working for Symantec Corp in Springfield, Oregon, prior to the discernment process that led him to seminary and his goal to be an Episcopal priest. “...
