Crazy Ex-Girlfriend I Need Some Balance Season 4 Episode 9 Editor’s Rating 5 stars ***** «Previous Next» Photo: Robert Voets/The CW Even by the standards of a show that thrives on fanservice, this episode of Crazy Ex-Girlfriend is really for the heads. Longtime viewers know that Rebecca despises Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Cats. So a musical parody was inevitable, but the show ups the stakes by making it an episode-long one, with each, uh, pussy as a different manifestation of Rebecca’s downstairs. The episode, written by Elisabeth Kiernan Averick, does a good job letting its essential weirdness shine without overcomplicating things. Unlike Cats itself (as Rebecca bitterly notes), it has a clear, simple plot arc: Rebecca needs to get laid. Still fantasizing about her threesome of exes, … [Read more...] about Recap: Pussyfooting

Bedroom-pop star Clairo is a study in shy charm. On the second of two gigs in London – this extra night was added to her UK tour after the first date sold out – the 21-year-old American Claire Cottrill occasionally clasps the hands of the adoring front row. Just as often, she’ll back away from her microphone to lurk in shadow and play guitar. There isn’t even a spotlight to run from: everything is lit only in fuzzy pink or peachy gold. If she says anything meaningful between songs, only the first few rows can hear it. Somewhere inside this diffident contemporary musician, however, is a core of steel and a level of outgoing ambition that allowed her to put songs up on the internet throughout her teenage years. Drill down into Clairo’s SoundCloud and among her embryonic originals, you can find covers of everything from the super-indie Beat Happening to contemporary bard (Sandy) Alex G, via the in-your-face digitals of PC Music’s Hannah Diamond. Wayanad: Citing the increasing number of rape cases in the country, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Saturday said the international community was ridiculing the country and India was now known as the 'rape capital' of the world. Winding up a three-day tour of his Wayanad Lok Sabha constituency, the Congress MP also lashed out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said his (Modi's) entire political career was based on hatred and division and violence. "The girls, sisters and mothers must be shocked when they read newspapers that every day a girl is raped or killed... The international community today ridicules India. India is known as the rape capital of the world," Gandhi said. In an apparent reference to the rape case against UP BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar, he alleged that the Prime Minister had failed to react when the victim's car was hit by a truck. "UP BJP MLA is involved in rape and PM hasn't said a word. Her car is hit by a truck and PM doesn't say a word... Foreign nations … [Read more...] about India now known as ‘rape capital’, says Rahul Gandhi

She was still a few years out from the string of personal problems and legal skirmishes that would derail her red-hot career in a way that she's, sadly, never managed to fully recover from. Feet firmly planted in the center of the zeitgeist and could do anything she wanted as her next move.Naturally, it was time to record an album. Now, the move wasn't without precedent. LiLo's then-rival (romantic and otherwise) Hilary Duff had already parlayed her Lizzie McGuire fame into a … [Read more...] about Remember When Lindsay Lohan Was a Pop Star?

But it has not always been so easy for Du Beke, whose real name is Anthony Beke. Prior to finding fame as a dancer, he worked as an interior designer, furniture salesman, baker, financial advisor and painter and decorator. His first job was in a factory making aircraft parts. "It's been difficult. I've had tough times," he has said. "You're never sure whether you're doing the right thing – you've not got any money, no proper job.
