Beijing-based SDIC Power just postponed plans to raise some $800 million using a link between Chinese and British bourses. In rejecting a recent $34 billion takeover bid from Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing, the London Stock Exchange argued that its partnership was a better route to the mainland. But the protest-hit financial hub can feel secure in its position. The Shanghai-London Stock Connect was forged in 2015 under a British government aiming for closer ties to China, and to promote the City as an offshore renminbi powerhouse. Horrific video shows teens torturing deer to death, tearing off its antler and skinning it
A HORRIFIC video of two teenage boys torturing a deer to death, tearing off its antler and skinning it has sparked fury. The video - which is uncomfortable to watch for animal lovers - allegedly shows Cody Hetrick and Alex Smith, of Brookville Pennsylvania, repeatedly kicking the helpless animal. Gregg Rossman notified the Pennsylvania Game Commission by sharing the gruesome video to their Facebook page on Saturday, November 30. An investigation has now been launched. Gregg wrote: "Alex Smith and Cody hetrick. Have other videos of these pos doing this too. Something definitely needs done. This video was shared to me from a mutual friend on Snapchat. "I was not a part of this! I shared simply to get the attention of authorities!" According to the Pennsylvania Game Commission, the 2019 statewide firearms deer season opened on November 30.However, it's unknown when the teen's Snapchat video was recorded. Jaguar in £1bn China deal: Luxury car manufacturer ties up deal for new Shanghai plant
Jaguar Land Rover is to start manufacturing cars outside the UK for the first time in a £1billion joint venture. The Coventry-based luxury motor marque and China’s largest vehicle exporter, Chery Automobile, are building a new plant near Shanghai after striking a deal. The agreement follows an 80% rise in sales of Jaguar Land Rovers in China so far this year. Chiefs Ralf Speth and Yin Tongyao yesterday laid the foundation stone of a new manufacturing facility, which is scheduled for completion in 2014. Dr Speth said: “For the first time one of the most famous names in the British automotive industry, Jaguar Land Rover, is poised to begin manufacturing outside the United Kingdom.
