Thánh said that the move followed a regular meeting on Wednesday where Prime Minister Nguyễn Xuân Phúc asked localities not to receive cars presented by enterprises. The province also informed the PM about the return of the cars, Thanh said. This was promised by Mai Tiến Dũng, head of the Government Office, at the monthly cabinet meeting held recently. The Prime Minister has tasked the Ministry of Finance, Government Inspectorate and Ministry of Justice, to look into the matter. The findings will then be made available to the media. Viet Nam News HCM CITY – Three people who got a luxury car smuggled from Cambodia to HCM City and forged its papers have received stiff prison sentences. The Tây Ninh Province People’s Court on Tuesday sentenced Nguyễn Đắc Tuyên, 41, of Hà Nội to 16 years in jail. Two other men, who conspired with him and abetted him in the criminal acts, Phùng Viết Đông, 38, and Phùng Tuấn Anh, 29, got 14 years apiece. They were charged with smuggling and forging seals and documents of official agencies. The municipal People’s Committee recently proposed a draft regulation on the issue to the Ministry of Security. However, its feasibility has come under question. Explaining the regulation, city authorities said that these bank accounts will be used to fine car owners for traffic tickets. Hoàng Hà of Đại Nam Law Firm in Hà Nội told Vietnam News Agency that at present, there were no regulations asking a citizen to open a new bank account when buying and registering a car. Under the programme, the electric cars will be introduced to serve tourists in Hội An City in central Quảng Nam Province and in southern Kiên Giang Province’s Phú Quốc District. The two provinces will be responsible for implementation of the project in the area and to ensure traffic safety. After six months of trial operations, the provincial authorities will report the results of the project to the government for effective implementation in the next round. The illegal car parking spaces are located on empty land of awaiting construction areas, desserted argicultural land areas and in sidewalks, streets and residential areas. Notably, the illegal parking spots have been blatantly existing despite many fines being dished out. According to urban management experts, one of the main reasons for the problem was weak managament of authorised agencies. The department has completed and submitted a new vehicle emission control plan based on the current situation as instructed by the Ministry of Transport, vov.vn online newspaper reported. Specifically, the department has proposed reducing the CO (carbon monoxide) emissions ratio for vehicles using gasoline fuel from 4.5 (level 1) to 3.5 (level 2); and HC (hydrocarbon concentration) from 1,200 ppm to 800 ppm. Vehicles using diesel fuel will have to reduce their emissions from 72 per cent HSU to 60 per cent HSU. The sea cable route is nearly 8.9 kilometres long, thought to be the longest in the world, with one end in An Thới Town and the other in Hòn Thơm Island, the largest in the An Thới island cluster to the south in Phú Quốc. The maximum speed of the cable car system can reach 8.5 metre per second so the total time from the start to the final station is just 15 minutes.
