The previously-announced deadline was October 15. The contest, celebrating 40 years of the Alma-Ata Declaration on primary health care (PHC), was launched by the Voice of Việt Nam (VOV) online newspaper, the European Union delegation to Việt Nam, the World Bank (WB), and the Ministry of Health in the capital city on August 29. The contest started on November 5, 2018 on www.sgtiepthi.vn and attracted hundreds of entries. After two months with six qualifying rounds, six individuals and four teams entered the final round which required yoga photos with the theme of nature. Vietnamese photographer wins int’l photo contest The Saigon Times Daily "The house in the Storm" by Luong Thanh Hai - PHOTO: VNA HCMC - “The house in the Storm” photo by Luong Thanh Hai of the Vietnam Meteorological and Hydrological Agency has won first prize at a photo competition organized by the ESCAP/WMO Typhoon Committee (TC). The contest was part of the 51st Typhoon Committee Annual Session, which was held in Guangzhou, China from February 26 to March 1, according to the Vietnam News Agency. Under the theme “Weather and Climate in Typhoon Committee Region,” the competition drew participants from 14 countries and territories, which are members of the TC. Two second, two third and two consolation prizes went to the meteorological and hydrological agencies of China, Hong Kong and Japan.
