The most popular courses are educational science and pedagogy, humanities, social and behavioural sciences, journalism and communications, social service, hotel-tourism, environment, and logistics. However, only 455,174 of them will get entry into universities and colleges, 1.2 per cent more than last year, with the rest going to vocational and other schools. Source: Ministry of Education and Training Viet Nam News HÀ NỘI – Nearly 78 per cent of students scored below 5/10 in history during the recent 2018 national high school graduation exams, according to the Ministry of Education and Training. The figure was equivalent to over 265,000 students. The average score for the subject was 4.02 points. Students in central Đà Nẵng City performed the worst, with nearly 90 per cent scoring below five points, followed by HCM City with almost 81 per cent. In 2017, the rate of such candidates was 61.9 per cent. Students also struggled in English, with nearly 73 per cent of the 638,400 candidates sitting the exam for the subject scoring less than five. HÀ NỘI — Prime Minister Nguyễn Xuân Phúc on Saturday signed an order asking concerned ministries, people’s committees and sectors to prepare well for the national high school exam this year. As part of the order, the Ministry of Education and Training (MoET) is responsible for completing the exam’s guidance documents, anticipating possible problems and proposing suitable measures in collaboration with provincial and municipal people’s committees and the Association of Việt Nam’s Universities and Colleges . The MoET was also asked to supply information and regulations for the exam to candidates and residents, and resolve any questions related to the exams.
