His main task is to make production plans and manage inventory. Vietnam Airports Corporation facing risks in airport venture
International financiers may have no room to join Long Thanh International Airport project, with the lack of a government loan guarantee creating a major obstacle for would-be investor Airports Corporation of Vietnam to ensure bankability. The National Assembly (NA) has issued a resolution on a feasibility study for the first phase of the Long Thanh International Airport project, in which the government will offer no loan guarantee and the selected investor will instead have to manage the fund itself. The move is seen as a blow for interested lenders, often requiring such a government guarantee for initiatives of this magnitude. India will not reconsider its oil and gas cooperation with Vietnam, said Geeta Kochhar, faculty member of the Center for Chinese and Southeast Asian Studies at the Jawaharlal Nehru University. Kochhar made the judgment in the context of China's illegal oil and gas activities in the East Sea, internationally known as the South China Sea, including the deployment of Chinese oil survey vessel Haiyang Dizhi 8 and its escorts to Vietnam’s exclusive economic zone and continental shelf. Karaoke parlor raid nets 96 people using drugs in Vietnam
They found many plastic bags containing white crystals looking like meth on the tables and floors of the Gossip Karaoke parlor. Over 100 men and women were taken in for questioning and 96 tested positive for banned drugs. The parlor owner, 39-year-old Tran Van Dai, was also in the news last February, when a bar that he owns in the same province was raided and 94 people, including 20 women, tested positive for drug use. Both the karaoke and the bar are locally known as "heavens for players (drug users)" in Ca Mau. Many reports have noted that while heroin has long been common among drug users in Vietnam, the use of synthetic drugs like meth or ecstasy has been rising of late, especially among the partying youth. Last September, seven people died of suspected overdose at a music concert in Hanoi. Last month, a drug bust found 300 kilos of meth in Ho Chi Minh City.
