Bachelor of Design (Digital Media) graduate Nguyen Ngoc Thanh Tam said she initially intended to create a children’s book to honor Vietnamese culture but then realized a game could be something that could gather all family members. Prime Minister Phan Van Khai was appointed "Commander in Chief" of the Anti-Corruption Committee under the new law by unanimous agreement of the deputies. "The committee will not do the job of functional offices of the State apparatus," assembly Legal Committee director Vu Duc Khien reassured the deputies. Quang Yen coastal economic zone - new push on northern development Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung has signed a decision on establishing Quang Yen Coastal Economic Zone in the northeastern province of Quang Ninh. Earlier this May, Quang Yen was added to the national plan for coastal economic zones. Located southwest of Quang Ninh and on the border to Hai Phong, the economic zone covers a total area of 13,303 hectares comprised of two functional sub-zones: a nearly 6,900-hectare subzone for seaport services and industrial zone named Dam Nha Mac, and over 6,400 hectares for an urban area and high-tech sub-zone. Quang Yen was established with three development goals, the first of which is to enhance the economic, trade and services connection with other coastal economic zones such as Van Don, Dinh Vu – Cat Hai (in Haiphong), and Thai Binh, and to develop socio-economic links between economic zones and neighboring areas. He also said in the same letter that “journalists should act like brave soldiers in the revolution to gain back unity and independence for the country.” One cannot imagine loftier ideals for this profession. Today, the lofty ideals may remain, but there are times I feel these are gathering dust in the shelves of our memory as the profession goes through one existential crisis after another.
