A new 32-acre park at the St Andrew's Park housing development in Uxbridge has been handed over to Hillingdon Council. Thought to be the biggest new public green space in Greater London since the opening of the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, St Andrew's Park is built on the former RAF Uxbridge site. As well as the park, which was handed over to Hillingdon Council on Monday (March 12), the site is also home to John Locke Primary School and up to 1,300 homes. Of that, 350 of the homes have already been sold, with 140 more and 240 rental apartments due for completion by the end of the year. Richmond , Chiswick and Hammersmith and Fulham are all at risk of flooding as heavy rain is expected in London over Easter weekend. The Met Office has issued a yellow warning for rain in the capital from Sunday afternoon (April 1) through Monday (April 2). Travel disruption is likely with a risk of flooding in west London boroughs that border the Thames. A government warning issued on Saturday (March 31) flags a risk of flooding along the Thames from Teddington Weir to Putney Bridge. Depending on where you live, temperatures could reach a cosy 22C next Wednesday (April 18) - trumping the party island of Ibiza in the heat stakes. Temperatures in some parts of west London are set to be warmer than Portugal on Friday (April 5) as spring finally gets under way in the capital. After a damp Easter bank holiday weekend, Londoners can expect temperatures as high as 16C on Friday, before they drop back down to around 12C on Sunday (April 8). Sunny intervals are predicted ahead of the weekend, but Saturday and Sunday are set to be quite grey and gloomy with some April showers to finish off the weekend. Friday's high temperatures come as London residents wash their hands of the Beast from the East, which caused freezing temperatures and snow across the country last month. Temperatures in the capital could rise to 18C this weekend according to the latest weather predictions. While the Weather Channel expects rain and muggy weather to last most of the week, temperatures could then peak with some sunshine predicted on Sunday (April 15). Don't don your bathing suit just yet though - a high risk of rain means it's not ideal sunbathing weather, but we could still be hotter than Portugal.
