The musician, who is the son of rock ’n’ roll pioneer Bill Haley, co-wrote a memoir earlier this year titled “Crazy Man, Crazy,” which chronicled how the singer became an overnight sensation with his 1955 recording “(We’re Gonna) Rock Around the Clock,” only to endure a turbulent life that ended with his death in 1981 at age 55 of natural causes. Jobs is on a tear, hell-bent on kicking off the Macintosh launch event with his computer speaking the word “Hello.” There’s a glitch and the team might not pull it off, an inexcusable turn of events that would ruin everything Jobs is setting out to do: destroy the 2001: A Space Odyssey-esque notion that computers are scary things with sharp edges.
