She excels four other candidates in the top five, Miss International Philippines Ma Ahtisa Manalo, Miss Earth Portugal Telma Madeira, Miss Universe South Africa Tamaryn Green and Miss International Venezuela Mariem Velazco, to win the award with a final score of 4.576. The score is the average of the scores of 4.318, 4.636 and 4.576 for her beauty and timeless appeal, overall performance and global impact, respectively. Viet Nam, India issue joint declaration (07-07-2007) HA NOI — Viet Nam and India have agreed to establish a new strategic partnership as part of relations, according to a joint declaration signed in New Delhi yesterday during Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung’s State visit to India from that ended yesterday. In the agreement, Prime Minister Dung and Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh stated that India-Viet Nam relations had been extremely friendly and cordial since the foundations were laid by President Ho Chi Minh and Prime Minister Nehru more than 50 years ago. Vietnam’s participation in the global value chain
The ratio of Vietnamese goods imported and used as input materials by foreign countries is decreasing, while the ratio of Vietnam’s import of input materials to produce goods for end-consumption is increasing. Vietnam thus has backward participation in the global value chain. The global value chain (GVC) index reflects an economy’s connection with the global value chain in foreign trade. The index comprises two factors which show backward and forward GVC participation. In essence, separate economies (the second countries) participate in the GVC by importing input materials from foreign countries (the first countries) to produce goods and services which they (the second countries) export to third countries. This activity is backward GVC participation. The other form of participation in the GVC of the second countries is exporting domestic goods to third countries which are used as input materials for those countries to produce goods for export to fourth countries.
