Chairman of the Hà Nội People’s Committee Nguyễn Đức Chung addressed concerns over the historical sites in his recent report sent to Prime Minister Nguyễn Xuân Phúc. The report presents a detailed design of the station. The report said the station and the tunnel are not located within the most regulated heritage protection zone. The tunnel will run underneath Bà Kiệu Temple, one metre from the foot of Bút Tower. Its ceiling will be 12.3m below the ground while its floor will be at a depth of 18.8m. Viet Nam, Cambodia reach accord on common border (23-12-2005) HA NOI — Viet Nam and Cambodia have agreed on a border demarcation masterplan, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The agreement includes the installation of border markers as well as regulations for the joint Viet Nam-Cambodia commission on border issues. Documents relating to the agreement set out the legal framework for the on-site border demarcation and installation of markers, expected to be completed by the two countries by the end of 2008. During this week’s three-day meeting in Phnom Penh, Vietnamese and Cambodian delegations also agreed on the historic significance of treaties and agreements signed in the 1980s. This follows the joint signing of the Supplementary Treaty to the 1985 Treaty on the Delimitation of the State Border in October.
