The northern province’s police are asked to bring to court charges against 92 people, facing a total of seven criminal offences, from organising gambling activities and purchasing fake invoices to money laundering, bribing and abuse of power. Earlier this May, Quang Yen was added to the national plan for coastal economic zones. Located southwest of Quang Ninh and on the border to Hai Phong, the economic zone covers a total area of 13,303 hectares comprised of two functional sub-zones: a nearly 6,900-hectare subzone for seaport services and industrial zone named Dam Nha Mac, and over 6,400 hectares for an urban area and high-tech sub-zone.
