Photo tapchitaichinh.vn Viet Nam News HÀ NỘI – Prime Minister Nguyễn Xuân Phúc has approved updated plans for Hòa Lạc High-tech Park, to be completed by 2030 in Hà Nội’s outlying districts of Thạch Thất and Quốc Oai. The Hòa Lạc Hi-tech Park, approved in 1998, is the first and the largest hi-tech facility in Việt Nam with total area of 1,586 ha. The park is located along Hà Nội’s Thăng Long Boulevard, convenient for transport links to Nội Bài International Airport and Hải Phòng deep-sea port. It is expected to become a model science city and a national hub for technology development and application. About 12,600 people are currently living and working in the park, and by 2030 the park’s population is expected to reach 229,000, half of which will be permanent residents. In the northern province’s Yên Khánh District, 40 households in Khánh Hồng Commune joined in a 2014 programme to grow vegetables with technical support from the provincial Hi-tech Application Centre for Agriculture. Under this model, vegetables and fruit were planted in glasshouses with automated irrigation systems and the cultivation confirmed to VIETGAP (Vietnamese Good Agricultural Practices) standards.
