SAN DIEGO — Four sexual assault victims of a convicted and now-deceased Catholic priest will sue the Diocese of San Diego early next year, as recently-enacted legislation allows the men to sue for damages even though the abuse occurred outside of the statute of limitations, the attorney representing the victims said Wednesday. The suit will be filed Jan. 2 on behalf of the victims of Father Anthony Edward Rodrigue, who was assigned to 10 parishes across San Diego, Imperial, San Bernardino and Riverside counties over his 29-year career. During that time, attorney Irwin Zalkin said Rodrigue molested more than 150 boys and was routinely moved from one parish to another without punishment from church officials.Following his removal from the priesthood, Rodrigue pleaded guilty in 1998 to molesting an 11-year-old developmentally disabled boy and was sentenced to 10 years in prison. Rodrigue died in 2009.Due to recently-enacted AB 218 -- co-authored by Assemblywoman Lorena Gonzalez, … [Read more...] about Child Sexual Abuse Lawsuit To Be Filed Against San Diego Diocese

When people come into couple’s therapy, they are usually very willing to talk about most subjects. Whether communication problems, unexpected losses, financial disputes, or other issues, they are open to sharing those kinds of concerns. The one issue that is often the least likely to emerge without deeper prompting is the way they feel about themselves or the other person sexually. They can talk about surface problems like differences in appetite or loss of desire, but not about how they actually feel about themselves as sexual beings. When I more deeply inquire, it becomes very clear how many intimate partners have withheld much of their sexual histories, traumas, fantasies, insecurities, and discomforts with one another. Or even from themselves. Being a trained sexual therapist as well as a psychologist, I know how important it is for every person to both understand his or her core sexuality as well as to be comfortable enough to share it with a trusted partner. In hopes … [Read more...] about What Forms Your Sexuality?

Donald Trump's Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin acted as a point of contact for a firm owned by one of Jeffrey Epstein's most infamous associates and alleged procurer Jean-Luc Brunel, a report claims. Mnuchin is named in documents for Next Management Corporation, formed in 1988 by model-industry bosses Jean-Luc and his brother Arnaud Brunel, The Daily Beast reported. At the time Brunel was the subject of a 60 Minutes documentary accusing him of drugging and raping models. Nearly 30 years later, the latest accusation against Brunel is that he flew 12-year-old French triplets to Epstein so he could abuse them. A Treasury Department official said Mnuchin wasn't aware he was listed as the company official who files registration papers and receives lawsuits and official documents. 'Secretary Mnuchin never served in any official capacity in Next Management Corporation, never did any business with nor knows either of the Brunel brothers, and never had any ownership stake in Next … [Read more...] about US Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin ‘acted as point of contact’ for firm run by model scout Jean-Luc Brunel who is blamed for supplying girls sexually abused by Jeffrey Epstein
