Phạm Xuân Hùng’s pig farm in Châu Đức District’s Suối Rao Commune is equipped with air conditioners and has 5,000 animals. Built in 2014, it also has a treatment system for swine manure based on solid-liquid separation. The treated pig manure is used to make fertilisers. Phạm Đức Mạnh, who manages the place, said: “Pigs bred in an air-conditioned place have few diseases, need few antibiotics and grow rapidly. There are fewer new cases and no deaths reported in the last two weeks, reported the health ministry. Trần Đắc Phu, director of the Preventive Medicine Department under the Ministry of Health, said at a meeting on disease prevention and control on Thursday that during the week from August 21 to August 27, 6,292 dengue fever cases were reported, down 11.4 per cent over the previous week.
