Bachelor of Design (Digital Media) graduate Nguyen Ngoc Thanh Tam said she initially intended to create a children’s book to honor Vietnamese culture but then realized a game could be something that could gather all family members. After 13 weeks of conceptualizing, structuring and designing, a new version of Monopoly that Tam called Tet Ta Mua was complete. After some research, Tam not only learned how to design a game that the whole family could enjoy but also studied the history of Tet culture to ensure the game is meaningful and authentic for all players. HCMC and Hanoi are among the worst cities for air pollution in Southeast Asia - PHOTO: VNA HCMC - Hanoi ranked second and HCMC 15th among the worst cities for air pollution in Southeast Asia, Thanh Nien newspaper reported, citing a recent report by the nongovernmental environmental organization GreenPeace. The air quality in HCMC is mostly between the yellow and orange levels on the air quality measurement scale, which means it is moderately unhealthy for sensitive groups, including children, active adults, the elderly, pregnant women and people with respiratory diseases. Quick actions needed to counter worsening air quality The Saigon Times Daily Warnings are repeatedly issued these days over the air quality in major cities in Vietnam, especially Hanoi and HCMC, as current air environment conditions are deemed as harmful to people’s health. Such facts require quick actions from authorities before the situation hits an irrecoverable threshold. Data from observatory facilities at the U.S. Embassy in Hanoi and the U.S. Consulate in HCMC shows air quality is getting worse in the two cities, especially in the capital. On Friday, Hanoi’s air quality measured around 190, which according to the Air Quality Index (AQI) is very damaging to people’s health. Under the AQI measurement, a reading under 50 is tagged green and is deemed good, between 51 and 100 is moderate, and from 101 to 150 is unhealthy for sensitive groups. A reading from 151 to 200, being tagged red, is unhealthy, while the next two levels are very unhealthy and hazardous. On April 9, Vietjet introduced a new route between Phu Quoc Island off Kien Giang Province and Hong Kong. The carrier will operate four flights per week, starting from April 19, on the new route. With a flight time of two hours and 45 minutes per leg, the flight will depart from Phu Quoc at 10:50 a.m. and land in Hong Kong at 2:35 p.m. The return flight will depart from Hong Kong at 3:40 p.m. and arrive in Phu Quoc at 5:25 p.m. (all local times).
