CHICAGO (AP) — Tyler Boyd was conceived in the U.S. and now he's playing there, too. His father, Ric, wanted his son to be born in his native New Zealand, so Ric and Sherry Boyd traveled there for their son's birth in December 1994. "We flew straight back to America when I was old enough to travel," Tyler Boyd said. After Tyler spent a decade in California growing up, the family moved back to New Zealand and he debuted for New Zealand's senior national team in 2014. He made six appearances for the All Whites, was granted a switch of affiliation by FIFA in May and has become a regular for the Americans heading into Sunday's CONCACAF Gold Cup final against Mexico. The Automobile Club of Southern California will offer a free towing service on New Year’s Eve to help keep impaired drivers off the road. The organization’s Tipsy Tow service will run from 6 p.m. Monday to 6 a.m. Tuesday and will be available in all of the 13 Southern California counties serviced by the Auto Club of Southern California, including Ventura County. New Year’s 2019 will mark the 23rd consecutive year the organization has offered the Tipsy Tow service. The Automobile Club of Southern California recommends that party-goers plan for a sober ride or use a designated driver if attending a gathering. With that said, if those plans fall through, motorists, bartenders, restaurant managers, party hosts or passengers of a drinking or otherwise impaired driver can call 800-400-4AAA for a free tow of up to seven miles. GLASSBORO – Police are searching for a man who stabbed a victim and then rode away on a bicycle. The assault occurred about 3:25 p.m. Friday on North Main Street in the area of Normal Boulevard, near the Rowan University campus, according to the Glassboro Police Department. The victim was walking to work when the bicyclist approached and stabbed him one time in the abdomen, police said. The suspect didn’t say anything to the victim during the attack and was last seen fleeing south on Main Street. Police released a photo of the suspect taken from a surveillance video and are asking the public for assistance in identifying him. He was described as a black man wearing a dark jacket.
