Xavi dreaming of Club World Cup semi-finals
Extra-time goals from Abdelkarim Hassan and Pedro Miguel saw Al Sadd to a 3-1 victory after Antoine Roine had earlier cancelled out Baghdad Bounedjah's opener. Ahead of a clash against Monterrey on Saturday (December 14), Al Sadd head coach Xavi was pleased, although he lamented his side's wastefulness. "We wasted a number of easy chances, we were not able to score. In extra time, we managed to score and were lucky that we did not go to penalties," he told a news conference, as per the club's website. "I am happy to progress to the next round of the tournament." The Barcelona great added: "We have dreams and goals in the upcoming game. We are 90 minutes away from the semi-final and we will strive to achieve our goal in the next game against Monterrey." ⚽️💨💥🇶🇦@ABDULKARIM_QAT to the rescue!#ClubWC pic.twitter.com/KKXg5oNon2 — FIFA.com (@FIFAcom) December 11, 2019 Xavi is expecting improvement from Al Sadd against the Mexican giants, … [Read more...] about Xavi dreaming of Club World Cup semi-finals
Red Faction: Guerilla’s Space Asshole returns on July 3rd
Home • PC Game News • 21 Dominic Tarason Contributor 4th June 2018 / 6:11PM Mars’s calendar is objectively superior to ours. For starters, their Independence Day comes one day sooner than America’s, and trades up the fireworks for driving giant mining robots through buildings. At least, that’s what I’m drawing from the pun-ishingly named Red Faction: Guerilla Re-Mars-tered‘s new release date trailer. This polished-up version of Volition’s space demolition sandbox is due out on July 3rd, and they’ve even gone and licensed Chris Remo’s fan-song ‘Space Asshole’ to accompany it. Correction: The Re-Mars-tered edition will be free for existing owners of the game. My bad! The re-Mars-tering process is admittedly giving a much larger set of improvements to console players, but some of the upgrades are universal, including an all-round graphical overhaul. Textures are sharper, shadows are … [Read more...] about Red Faction: Guerilla’s Space Asshole returns on July 3rd
Tennis Round-up: Berrettini wins Stuttgart Open
IMAGE: Matteo Berrettini has now won his 3rd ATP title in 11 months. Photograph: Clive Brunskill/Getty Images Italian Matteo Berrettini claimed his first grasscourt title with a 6-4, 7-6(11) victory over Canadian teenager Felix Auger-Aliassime at the Stuttgart Open final on Sunday. World number 30 Berrettini saved five points in the marathon second set tiebreak and held on to win it 13-11 for his third ATP crown in last 11 months. Berrettini, who defeated home favourite Jan-Lennard Struff in the semi-final, grabbed an early break point in the opening set, as the 18-year-old erred by pushing a backhand approach shot into the net. Auger-Aliassime, who is youngest player in the world's top 100, was unable to take advantage of one of his five chances in the tiebreak, with Berrettini serving well under pressure before taking control of points on his forehand. Berrettini won all 50 of his service games over the week, claiming more than 89% of his first-serve points in his five matches and … [Read more...] about Tennis Round-up: Berrettini wins Stuttgart Open
Five match-ups we’d love to see in the UCL Round of 16
We know who each UEFA Champions League knockout round contestant can draw in the Round of 16, but some would be juicier than others. From an American angle, we’ve been deprived of a Christian Pulisic and Borussia Dortmund reunion for now, though we could see a CONCACAF young star duel if Pulisic’s Chelsea draws Alphonso Davies’ Bayern Munich. [ MORE: Premier League schedule ] But let’s be honest: That’s simply a subplot for our North American audience. The big intrigue lies elsewhere. Alas, most of Jose Mourinho’s old employers Chelsea and Real Madrid are unseeded like current club Spurs. Barcelona cannot draw Man City, another beauty. 5. Tottenham Hotspur v. Barcelona — Jose Mourinho and Barcelona have a history, while Spurs are winless in four outings against La Liga’s storied club. 4. Juventus v. Real Madrid — Wouldn’t it be something if Cristiano Ronaldo and his longtime buddies met up in the Round of 16. 3. … [Read more...] about Five match-ups we’d love to see in the UCL Round of 16
