The draft law contains six chapters and 104 items and is expected to adjust some items of the original Law of Public Investment No 49/2014/QH13, which was dated June 18, 2014 and took effect in January 2015. “After three years of implementation, the Law of Public Investment has raised the efficiency of public investment and public capital use,” Dũng said. “It has helped government agencies become transparent in their use of State capital, pushed efforts to fight corruption and overspending and saved some budget expenses in civil procurement,” he said. With six chapters and 47 articles, the bill aims to enhance the efficiency of support for SMEs in line with market principles, while ensuring that it does not violate the country’s international commitments. It is also designed to create a legal framework to rally public support for the effort, the law drafting board said. Eleven draft laws ready for April NA meeting (04-03-2005) HA NOI — National Assembly deputies concluded a 13-day discussion meeting yesterday on 11 draft laws before they are submitted to the NA for consideration in April. The revised version of the Civil Code, in particular, incited heated discussion between lawmakers and the general public. Draft law would let public see State budget audits (13-05-2005) HA NOI — Results of State budget audits should be accessible to not only legislators but to the general public, and this should be stated as a vital principle in the new State Audit Law, said National Assembly delegates during a debate session on the draft law. NA seeks citizens’ opinions on amending two draft laws (21-07-2005) HCM CITY— The National Assembly began collecting suggestions from the people yesterday regarding two pieces of legislation currently in draft stages, the Law on Practising Thrift and Combating Waste and the Anti-Corruption Law. The text of the first of these laws has 18 chapters and 80 articles. It is meant to regulate the management and use of the State budget, State-funded projects, public offices, natural resources, production and consumption, and the use of property by businesses.
