Hà Nội Obstetrics Hospital was asked to organise training courses and monitor the process at the obstetric departments of other city hospitals. Previously, the Ministry of Health requested the municipal Health Department to issue harsh penalties to medical workers involved with the six-year-old case of babies being switched at birth at Ba Vì Hospital. Nguyễn Đức Hải, a resident of Tân Bình District, said he had to go to a third health centre to get the first rabies vaccination, which he had to take four to five times. Speaking at a meeting yesterday to review health sector activities of the first six months of the year, Dr Nguyễn Tấn Bỉnh, the department’s director, said the aim was to raise trust among local residents in wards and communes. Doctors at local health stations would receive assistance from doctors at district-level hospitals, he said. Nguyen Van Viet confirmed on Wednesday that the ministry had controlled the use of banned chemicals in breeding thanks to urgent preventive measures, inspections and co-ordination of the Ministry of Public Security to break the banned chemical smuggling rings.
