Danang People's Committee have issued a plan to develop river tourism during the 2019-2021 period. They called for investments into ports, wharves and boats at tourism destinations. At first, they will upgrade Han River Port and Thu Thanh River Port. The city authorities will temporarily let businesses open services like picnics and call for investments to build new tour boats that can cruise overnight in Danang Bay. Son Tra Peninsula will invest in coral reef diving, and tours to traditional villages where tourists can shop and enjoy local food. Dao Dang Cong Trung, director of Danang Ocean Tour said this might be a breakthrough to boost the city's tourism sector and local authorities should have firms with administrative procedures to get permits to build boats more quickly. Tour guide Ngoc Han said, “Teacher Nguyen Vinh Bao is a prominent figure in Vietnam’s music industry. He’s good at playing both traditional and Western musical instruments. He made a substantial contribution to the recognition of ‘don ca tai tu’ (southern opera) by UNESCO as an intangible cultural heritage of humanity. Dossiers on Dong Ho folk painting to be appraised
If recognised, this traditional art could be revived and its value promoted. Vietnam has been submitting dossiers on Then singing of the Tay, Nung and Thai ethnic groups, Xoe dance of the Thai ethnic group, and pottery making of the Cham ethnic people to seek UNESCO recognition. Dong Ho folk painting has been recognised as national intangible cultural heritage. According to statistics, there are only three artisans and 20 practitioners in this job, and only two old people are able to teach this kind of art. It is a genre of Vietnamese woodcut paintings originating from Dong Ho village in Bac Ninh province. Using the traditional diep paper and colours derived from nature, craftsmen print Dong Ho pictures of different themes from good luck wishes and historical figures to everyday activities and folk allegories. Firework performances slated for upcoming holiday
The 15-minute firework shows will begin at 9pm on April 30 in District 2’s Thủ Thiêm Tunnel, Đầm Sen Park in District 11, and Vinhomes Centre Park in Bình Thạnh District. Costs for the fireworks will be funded by local organisations. Streets and parks are expected to be alive with festivities during the show, according to the city’s Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism. Outdoor music and song programmes will be staged in the evening at cultural houses, including the HCM City Youth Cultural House, Cultural Women House and Cultural House for Children, on April 30 and May 1.
