ENGLAND’S great World Cup adventure is over — after Gareth Southgate’s young Lions lost 2-1 to Croatia in a pulsating, nerve-shredding semi-final. Skipper Harry Kane, speaking minutes after the final whistle, summed up the feelings of the nation when he said: “It hurts. It hurts a lot. “But we can hold our heads up high. We have gone further than a lot of people thought we would do. “Obviously it has been great to get to this stage and we know we have done everyone proud — but we wanted to win. We wanted more and are sad we couldn’t give our fans a final.” Southgate added: “We’ve come an incredibly long way in a short space of time. “The whole thing is beyond where we thought we might go. Tonight we weren’t quite there. Kliff Kingsbury named Arizona Cardinals head coach
From failed college head coach one season to NFL head coach the next. That’s the career trajectory the Anna Kournikova of college football has taken. Amidst various reports that USC was blocking its newly-minted offensive coordinator, Kliff Kingsbury, from interviewing for NFL jobs — specifically, head coaching vacancies with the Arizona Cardinals and New York Jets — it was reported that, either because the Trojans reversed their stance or the coordinator quit, Kingsbury was interviewing for the Jets job Monday. Tuesday, the interviews shifted to the Cardinals offering Kingsbury the Arizona job. North Korea Celebrates Fourth of July 2018 with Peace, Last Year It Launched ICBM ‘Gift’ for ‘American Bastards’
North Korea launched its first intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) on the Fourth of July 2017, praising it as "a gift for the American bastards." This year, however, the traditional U.S. foe has opted to recognize the holiday more positively, in light of a historical warming of relations between the two nations. The official Korean Central News Agency today published an article in memory of the signing of the July 4 South-North Joint Communiqué in 1972. The document was the first to be signed by Communist-backed North Korea and Western-backed South Korea since they were split by the Soviet Union and the U.S. after World War II and went to war in the early 1950s. In the joint statement, then-North Korean supreme leader Kim Il Sung and South Korean KCIA Director Lee Hu-rak laid out three principles for the eventual reunification of the two Koreas: independence, peace and national unity. North Korea's state-run media marked the occasion this year with overwhelming praise. … [Read more...] about North Korea Celebrates Fourth of July 2018 with Peace, Last Year It Launched ICBM ‘Gift’ for ‘American Bastards’
North Korea Honors Kim Jong Un’s Best Year Yet, Promises To Shock World in 2018
Despite crippling economic sanctions and threats of U.S. military action by President Donald Trump, North Korea has looked back at historic achievements made by supreme leader Kim Jong Un in 2017, the year in which the secretive, militarized state developed missiles capable of striking anywhere in the U.S. North Korea's state-run media was ripe Saturday with celebrations of its ballistic and nuclear weapons programs, highlighting how the mostly impoverished, authoritarian country had managed landmark advances in the face of a U.S. administration that vowed a hardline stance against Kim's growing arsenal. In one report, the official Korean Central News Agency published a timeline of notable events, promising to continue its path toward developing new, more powerful weapons in spite of condemnation from most of the international community.
