Director Bùi Xuân Cư ờng said the department had collaborated with technology firms to integrate the HCM City Traffic Portal with the Zalo app. They can find information about traffic flow, roadblocks, accidents, traffic congestion and current traffic via live images captured by 700 traffic cameras. To enhance interactions, the Sài Gòn River Tunnel Management Centre has added another function to Zalo, which can virtually assist locals in conveniently finding information. The HCM City Department of Natural Resources and Environment has launched a mobile app providing information related to classification of solid wastes at source. — VNS Photo Viet Nam News HCM CITY — A mobile application to provide people information about solid waste classification at source was unveiled in HCM City on June 21. The app, “Phân loại chất thải rắn tại nguồn” (Solid waste classification at source) has been created by the Department of Natural Resources and Environment (DONRE) and the Việt Nam Post and Telecommunications Group. Since April the district administration has been trialling the app, which allows the public to report violations related to garbage dumping, pavement encroachment and illegal construction. A complaint, once sent to the authorities, is processed within two hours after which the complainant is informed how it has been disposed of. The department has also been working with airlines, he said. In September, the budget airline Vietjet Air plans to open direct flights from HCM City to India, he added. An eight-storey building, for example, in District 1’s 23 Lý Tự Trọng Street is one of several buildings that require an immediate action. Built before 1975, it contains 76 households. Though the building’s structural strength in late 2017 did not meet official standards, it has yet to be dismantled.
