A report from the Office of the Ministry of Public Security said that 42 road accidents occurred on the first day of the holiday, December 29, claiming 27 lives and injuring 15 people, while 42 other traffic incidents occurred on December 30, resulting in 25 deaths and 11 injuries. While no rail and sea transport incidents were reported on the first day of the holiday, a total of 40 road crashes on the second day killed 24 people and injured 10 others, and two rail accidents left one dead and another injured on the same day, police said.
