To gain entry into the casino, gamblers must buy a ticket at VND1 million for 24 hours. The revenue from the fee collection will go into the budget of Kien Giang Province. Casino visitors must meet a number of conditions. Specifically, they must be 21 years old or above and have regular income of at least VND10 million a month. From June 2, Auchan Retail will begin shutting down most of its supermarkets in the country. Auchan has terminated its employment contracts with most of its workers in Vietnam, who received the news several days ago. On May 15, Auchan Retail CEO Edgar Bonte told France’s news agency Les Echos that the chain generated only 45 million euros, or US$50.4 million, in the Vietnamese market last year and is still suffering losses. Oanh allegedly led a transnational drug trafficking ring from Cambodia to HCM City. The suspect, nicknamed ‘Hà’, rented a casino venue in Cambodia located a kilometre from the border with Việt Nam and opened gambling activities. Trần Văn Cường and Vũ Quang Trung helped her sell the drugs in HCM City. She also ordered her accomplices to buy or rent apartments in the city to store drugs. On May 24, the police arrested Oanh’s accomplices and seized 103,000 ecstasy pills, 39 packs of heroin and some 30kg of synthetic drugs.
