Private transport firms offer cheap ride from Hà Nội to Nội Bài Airport

People will soon have more options to travel from Hà Nội’s downtown area to Nội Bài International Airport. – VNA/VNS Photo HÀ NỘI (VNS) — Three coach operators have jointed a pilot programme to offer rides for about VNĐ40,000 (US$1.8) per ride from downtown Hà Nội to Nội Bài International Airport beginning this month. The operators are Hải Vân International Transport Joint Venture Company, Việt Thanh Transport Ltd Company and ABC Taxi Service Joint Stocks Company. They will open three coach routes to Nội Bài International Aiport. The first route will have stops at Thống Nhất Park, Quang Trung Street, Hai Bà Trưng, Lý Thái Tổ, Chương Dương Bridge, Nguyễn Văn Cừ and Đông Trù Bridge. The second route includes stops at Hoàng Cầu Street, Thái Hà, Cầu Giấy, Bưởi, Võ Chí Công and Nhật Tân Bridge. The third route will stop at Nước Ngầm Station, Linh Đàm, Nguyễn Xiển, Ring Road 3, Phạm Văn Đồng and Thăng Long Bridge. Tân Sơn Nhất International Airport has opened a 10,000sq.m parking garage, located outside the domestic terminal.— Photo baogiaothong.vn HCM CITY — Tân Sơn Nhất International Airport has opened a 10,000sq.m parking garage, located outside the domestic terminal. Đầu Khắc Cường, director of TCP Joint Stock Company, said that motorbike drivers could park temporarily on the second and third floors until the parking garage begins full operation next month. Then they could switch to parking lots on the ground and intermediate floors. The five-storey parking garage, which has been under construction since December 2015, can hold more than 3,000 motorbikes. While the ground and intermediate floors are set for motorbikes, car owners can park their vehicles on the second to fifth floors. Estimated parking fees for each motorbike are VNĐ5,000 (US$0.22) during the day and VNĐ10,000 ($0.4) at night. The new parking fees will be applied beginning in December. – Photo infonet.vn Viet Nam News HCM CITY — Parking fees at HCM City’s Tân Sơn Nhất International Airport will increase beginning today, December 1, the city’s People’s Committee has announced. The new fee for motorbikes in the first four hours will be VNĐ 6,000 (US$0.26). Vehicles’ owners will pay VNĐ 1,000($0.04) for every additional hour. The current fee is VNĐ5,000 ($0.2) every eight hours. The new fee for cars with between four and eight seats will be VNĐ20,000 ($0.8) for the first 90 minutes, plus VNĐ5,000 ($0.2) for every additional hour. For cars with between nine and 25 seats, the fee will be VNĐ40,000 ($1.7) for the first 90 minutes and VNĐ15,000 ($0.6) for every additional hour. The airport is usually packed during Tết as people leave for their hometowns. According to the Civil Aviation Authority of Việt Nam, the number of passengers is expected to increase by 20 per cent this year to more than 4.1 million on a total of 26,288 flights. The incident occurred at 11:10 p.m. when the Boeing 787-9 plane (registration number VN-A865) was being parked at Tan Son Nhat International Airport to prepare for the flight to Osaka. The ladder car, operated by Vietnam Airport Ground Services Co., Ltd, hit the jet, leaving a hole in the lower half of the plane’s back door, reported Tuoi Tre newspaper. Some local residents and officials say the explosion of taxi services in recent years is contributing to traffic congestion, which has become increasingly worse. As of 2016, there were a total of 11,060 traditional taxis and 15,300 app-based taxis, double the number that city officials had previously targeted. HCMC to ban light trucks in daytime
