Ltd. yesterday began construction of the American International Hospital (AIH) in HCM City’s District 2, the country’s first American-standard hospital. The 150-bed hospital is equipped with international-standard facilities and medical equipment and designed under Joint Commission International certification, the world’s leading accreditation in healthcare services quality evaluation. It will be staffed by doctors from the US along with Vietnamese doctors who have been trained overseas. A Japanese company now plans to invest in an international hospital. — VNS Photo Công Thành Viet Nam News ĐÀ NẴNG — JGC Corporation, a Japanese global-engineering company, plans to build a 200-bed international hospital to help provide high-quality medical services in the central city to cater mostly to the boom in tourism. The city’s Investment Promotion Agency told Việt Nam News that the Japanese investor and two partners, the Saikeikai and Kishokai companies, would invest US$40 million in two phases. They have plans to speed up a feasibility study for the project. The investors have already held six surveys in the city on when to start construction. This will be the first Japanese medical investment project in Đà Nẵng. More than 400,000 Japanese tourists, the second largest foreign group, visited Đà Nẵng in 2016. The DND hospital covers an area of some 10,000sq.m in Dĩnh Kế Ward, Bắc Giang City. Combining the high-end resort model with hospital, DND is the first international standard hospital in the province. Along with its high-tech equipment and qualified staff, DND provides a variety of choices for high-quality medical service to the locals. The elements of a resort would also be included such as biological gardens, lakes, and a Japanese style architecture, ready to serve thousands of patients every year. Hà Nội Obstetrics Hospital was asked to organise training courses and monitor the process at the obstetric departments of other city hospitals. Previously, the Ministry of Health requested the municipal Health Department to issue harsh penalties to medical workers involved with the six-year-old case of babies being switched at birth at Ba Vì Hospital. The mothers in this particular case are Phùng Thị Thu Hiền from Vân Trai Village of Tây Đằng Commune, and Vũ Thị Hương residing in Phú Mỹ Village of the district’s Phú Sơn Commune.
