VN, Cambodia strengthen ties on culture, fine arts (04-04-2006) HA NOI — Viet Nam and Cambodia have strengthened traditional ties and mutual understanding not only through economic and political co-operation but also through frequent cultural exchanges, said Deputy Prime Minister Pham Gia Khiem. Khiem made his comments at a reception given to Royal Highness Prince Sisovath Panara Sereyvuth, Cambodian Minister of Culture and Fine Arts, in Ha Noi yesterday. He said Vietnamese Government supported and wanted to strengthen co-operation with Cambodia in the field of culture and fine arts, especially through exchanging cultural troupes and sharing experiences in preserving culture. Khiem said in recent years co-operation between Viet Nam and Cambodia had grown rapidly both bilaterally and through co-operation frameworks in the sub-region, inter-region and international forums. More than 70 per cent of labourers working at industrial zones in the city are from other provinces and mostly unskilled. — Photo danviet. vn HCM CITY — A final year mechanics student at HCM City’s Technical College Dương Quang Thiện spends his time taking a training course at Lập Phúc Company. “Thanks to the course, I have chances to practise my technical skills and get more experience,” he said. The enterprise and the school launched the collaboration to equip students with practical skills that match business requirements. Thiện and 17 other students taking the course hope that after graduation they will be offered a position at the company. Shapes of Sounds offers new folk arts performances

Denmark donates artworks to local healthcare facilities

The paintings would create positive energy for little patients, Lê Thanh Hải, director of the Việt Nam National Children’s Hospital, said at a ceremony with the Danish Embassy and Việt Nam – Denmark Friendship Association (VIDAFA) yesterday in Hà Nội.
