AMD will be expanding its Radeon RX 6000 graphics card line on March 3, with the launch thought to introduce lower-priced options that could eventually be used with the Mac Pro or eGPU solutions. The first Radeon RX 6000-series GPUs were introduced on October 28, with the RX 6800, RX 6800 XT, and RX 6900 XT unveiled by AMD. In an announcement made on Twitter, AMD plans to add more cards to the range. The tweet proclaims "the journey continues for RDNA2" at 11 A.M. Eastern on March 3. The event will be the third episode of AMD's "Where Gaming Begins" virtual event streams, and is confirmed via the tweet to include at least one new card. AMD unveiled a trio of RX 6000 series GPUs, three RDNA 2 powered cards that undercut Nvidia's RTX 30 series in price with comparable performance and lower power consumption. AMD's three new cards all use the company's RDNA 2 architecture, which it envisions as the foundation of next-gen PC and console gaming. AMD designed RDNA 2 to provide an optimal balance of performance and power-efficiency. The architecture will also power both the PS5 and Xbox Series X. Along with increased performance and power efficiency, the GPUs also have ray-tracing capabilities and variable-rate shading. That brings the AMD cards more in-line with main rival Nvidia. The $649 Radeon RX 6800 XT is a direct competitor to the Nvidia RTX 3080. AMD says you can expect 4K and 1440p gaming performance that matches or beats the RTX 3080. The index added 7.09 points, or 0.75%, over the previous session to close at 952.34 points, with 142 stocks rising and 155 others falling. Trading volume slipped 15.9% at 181 million shares, and its value declined a slight 3% at some VND4.8 trillion. The local put-through market was active with around 24.4 million shares worth more than VND1.5 trillion changing hands. Stocks surge after last Friday's correction By Phuong Thao HCMC – With most oil and gas stocks gaining, the local stock market bounced back strongly today, February 18, after last Friday’s correction, sending the VN-Index of the Hochiminh Stock Exchange edging up above the resistance level of 960 points. The index jumped 10.41 points, or 1.09%, to end the day at 961.3, as gainers outnumbered losers by 174 to 131. The southern exchange saw 194.6 million shares worth around VND4.1 trillion changing hands, up 21.1% and 6.9% versus the session earlier, respectively. Among the oil and gas stocks, fuel group GAS became the biggest advancer as it added 3.4% at VND97,200 per share. VHM leads stock rally By Phuong Thao HCMC – VHM, a subsidiary of property giant VIC, was again the top advancer on the local stock market today, February 20, as it led the stock rally for the third straight session in spite of the increased selloff. As the market reached the strong resistance level of 970 points, VHM came under some profit taking pressure in the afternoon but it still closed the session up 3.9% at VND90,400 per share, its highest since August. On the previous day, VHM was also the top contributor to the day’s gains as it jumped 6.1%. Meanwhile, VIC increased a slight 0.4% at VND116,500 and retailer VRE, another subsidiary of VIC, added 1.6% at VND32,100. VN-Index jumps to four-month high By Phuong Thao HCMC – Domestic stock rises extended for a fourth straight session today, February 21, again led by property stock VHM. The VN-Index of the Hochiminh Stock Exchange rose to a record high since early October 2018. Having led the stock rallies in the previous two sessions, VHM went up to its ceiling price of VND96,700 per share with 1.2 million shares matched. Meanwhile, its parent firm VIC increased 1.6% at VND118,400 while VRE, another subsidiary of VIC active in the retail industry, climbed 5.2% at VND34,000. With the gainers outnumbering the losers at 170 to 123, the index soared a massive 16.99 points, or 1.75%, to close at 987.57. VN-Index fails to beat 1,000 points By Phuong Thao HCMC – Local stocks advanced for the sixth session in a row today, February 25, but the VN-Index of the Hochiminh Stock Exchange still failed to beat the 1,000-point mark due to a selloff at over 955 points. The VN-Index added 5.52 points, or 0.56%, versus the session earlier at 994.43. Trading volume on the southern market rose 5.6% to 227.7 million shares and value improved 4.8% at VND5.2 trillion. Steel firms were among the biggest gainers. HSG hit its upper limit of VND8,520 per share with nearly 8.5 million shares matched. POM and TLH also went up to the ceiling prices while HPG advanced 2.6% at VND34,800.
