Singer Rihanna's documentary has been reportedly sold to Amazon for a whopping USD 25 million, i.e. 2.5 crores. Sources say Amazon paid $25 million for the untitled film's rights in a move that reflects last week's USD 25 million Apple TV+ deal for a Billie Eilish documentary directed by and produced in collaboration with Eilish's label, Interscope Records. Amazon declined to comment, reports hollywoodreporter.com. The untitled documentary, which director Peter Berg began working on years ago, is dubbed an unfiltered look into Rihanna's life, providing a glimpse into the evolution of one of the world's most well-known pop artists. With unparalleled access to the singer's life and more than 1,200 hours of footage, the documentary offers private insights into Rihanna's personality, sense of humour, work ethic, family and love. Berg and Rihanna have worked together previously on Universal's Battleship. Berg previously gave details about the under-wraps project -- "That was a fun change … [Read more...] about Rihanna’s Documentary Reportedly Sold for Rs 2.5 Crores to Amazon Prime

Amazon launches Flex, an Uber-inspired package delivery service
Amazon is getting into the gig economy with the launch of a new service that pays part-time drivers to deliver packages on their behalf. An obvious nod to Uber and the like, Amazon Flex promises to pay drivers between $18 and $25 per hour to deliver packages ordered using the company’s one-hour delivery service, Amazon Prime Now. Interested parties must be at least 21 years of age, supply their own vehicle, have an Android-based smartphone and pass a background check. It’s unclear what factors – number of available workers, delivery distance or package size, for example – play into exactly how much a driver will earn per hour of work. Due to the nature of the service, it’s not quite as flexible as something like Uber. Part-time drivers can take on two-, four- or eight-hour shifts to supplement their income when free time presents itself (or perhaps even work “full-time”). Amazon says drivers can work as much as they want with delivery … [Read more...] about Amazon launches Flex, an Uber-inspired package delivery service

How To Visit New York’s ‘Museum of Modern Love’ Pop-Up Inspired By New Amazon Series
An interactive pop-up museum inspired by Amazon Prime's "Modern Love" is coming to New York City this weekend. Museum of Modern Love bills itself as a pop-up experience dedicated to the craving for human interaction and intimacy. It will offer a photo booth, a family tree exhibit, and a "collaborative map of love and creative confessional," according to the event's Facebook page. The Amazon Prime series "Modern Love" itself is inspired by the weekly New York Times column of the same name. Each episode will premiere a half-hour, dramatized version of previously published columns. All focus on the triumphs or hardships of falling in and out of love, as written by an ordinary person who submitted their story to the newspaper. Reviews of the series, which debuts on the streaming platform October 18, indicate the show may paint these stories in a bubblegum light. Vanity Fair compared the series to a commercial for a credit card company, while Variety wrote that "not even stars like Anne … [Read more...] about How To Visit New York’s ‘Museum of Modern Love’ Pop-Up Inspired By New Amazon Series
Amazon unveils its redesigned ‘hybrid’ delivery drone, featuring helicopter and plane flight modes
Amazon has been testing out its delivery drone service known as "Prime Air" for quite some time now, but only in select areas -- there's still no word on when they might be ready to spread across the United States or the world at large. Before that can happen, Amazon likely wants to ensure its drones are perfect (or at least as close to perfect as they can reasonably get) by iterating on them over time and testing out different versions to see what sticks. To that end, Amazon revealed the latest redesign of its Prime Air delivery drones at the re:MARS AI conference on Wednesday. See the new and improved drone in action below. The main goals behind the Prime Air drone's new look and functionality are boosted efficiency, stability, and safety. Amazon has accomplished the former two tasks by implementing a "hybrid" flight mode into the new design. Now, the drones can take off and land vertically as a helicopter can, but once they fully take to the sky, they can switch to "airplane mode" … [Read more...] about Amazon unveils its redesigned ‘hybrid’ delivery drone, featuring helicopter and plane flight modes
Take a look at Amazon One, the retail giant’s first branded cargo plane
Amazon is currently testing its Prime Air drones in the UK to avoid FAA regulations, but while the UAV program may not arrive on US shores for some time, the online retail giant will soon be launching its first branded cargo airplane: Amazon One. The company is showcasing the Boeing 767-300 this weekend at Seattle’s SeaFair Air Show. It will be flown and operated by Atlas Air Worldwide, which provides Amazon’s air cargo services. The cargo plane, which displays the Prime Air and Amazon smile logos, is one of 40 Boeing 767s that the company is leasing from Atlas and its other cargo partner, Air Transport Services Group. There are currently 11 dedicated planes flying for the company, with the remainder rolling out over the coming years. “Creating an air transportation network is expanding our capacity to ensure great delivery speeds for our Prime members for years to come,” said Dave Clark, Amazon’s senior vice president of worldwide operations, in a press … [Read more...] about Take a look at Amazon One, the retail giant’s first branded cargo plane
