Doan Toi, chairman and general director of Nam Viet Company, said the project with total capital of VND4 trillion is considered Vietnam’s largest tra fish raising project to apply advanced technology. A company in the province bought the plant at the given price (excluding taxes), which is nearly VND100 billion lower than the plant’s initial investment of VND250 billion announced in 2009, according to Nguyen Duc Tam, director of Vietnam Development Bank’s (VDB’s) Can Tho Branch. Vietnam’s economy has been heavily dependent on foreign markets.
