The accident took place on National Highway No 6 in Lóng Luông Commune, Vân Hồ District, northern province of Sơn La. All the victims, from the northern province of Hòa Bình, were reportedly in a 5-seater car driven by Hà Công Khui, 52, who is suffering from serious injuries. Upon testing, police found that Khui was under the influence of alcohol. The two men in the truck escaped unharmed. An initial investigation showed that the car was speeding and out of control, crashing into the truck that was driving in the opposite direction.
