Another HBO Max spinoff out of the Gotham-based franchise is set to focus on the Gotham Police Department, according to the outlet.

Farrell has been busy in recent years working in a number of mediums, with films such as After Yang, Voyagers and Artemis Fowl; and on TV shows including The North Water and Legend of Cambria.

Farrell, appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live! this past July, chat with guest host Wanda Sykes about how he was filming The Batman in London at the outset of the coronavirus pandemic in March of 2020.

‘I was in London starting that when the s*** started to hit the fan and I was very glib about it at the beginning,’ he said. ‘I was like, “Everyone needs to chill, it's just the flu, and I mean, what the f*** do I know?”

‘Then the border starts to be closed and I think I got out on the third last plane to come back’ to Los Angeles.

Farrell said ‘it was very strange,’ recalling a visit to a grocery store ahead of ‘going into quarantine,’ as he ran into someone he knew who ‘looked like he was going into surgery’ donning PPE such as a mask and gloves.

Farrell, who is father to sons James, 18, and Henry, nine, added, ‘Then me and my boy locked down, what a year it's been.’

The Batman, also starring Zoe Kravitz, Paul Dano and Jeffrey Wright, is set to hit theaters March 4, 2022.
